Your absolutely right! We're supposed to live for the day, otherwise, why would God put us on earth??? And every one of us makes a difference in someone else's life, hopefully many someones. We're supposed to live life to the full, experience what God put here, use what he gave us judiciously, and give it to the next generation somehow better than before.

God bless, and do not lose that hope. Sometimes that's all we have...

Thank you David. Posts like this give me hope. I would still like people to live, with heart and compassion for today. Imagine if you live every single day like that, when it is time for the afterlife how full your report card would be!

I worry when people spend too much time concerned with the afterlife because quite frankly, we were put here to grow and spiritually evolve. Everything we do, every word we say makes a difference. The butterfly effect is real and when you put together 4 billion people, each one effecting the other in some small way ... were that more people would realize this and appreciate every single moment. The next second of time isn't guaranteed but this one is, so I say it is important to live it with heart.

Catherine, you ask a lot of questions! Regarding God, there can really only be one God. The Jewish God, the Christian God, the Catholic God, and the Muslim God are all the same God, interpreted differently by men. Christians, which includes Catholics, by the way, (I am Catholic) believe their faith stems from the Jewish faith centered on Jesus. Catholics believe that the apostles, especially Peter, were the beginning of the Catholic Church, that Jesus commissioned them, and they spread the word of God down through the ages.

At any rate, no God can be authentic if he didn't love all of us equally. No matter what. But we're all imperfect, some more so than others. We're supposed to love each other as God loves us. So, we're not supposed to kill people, even if they're doing something wrong. We're not supposed to hate people. We can hate what they do that's wrong. And it is ok for us to let them know what's wrong-God tells us we're supposed to. But lovingly. With empathy, trying to put yourself in that other person's shoes, because there, but for the grace of God, go I.

Trust in God can help you navigate this messed up world. We put too much importance on the things in this world, and too little in what will come after.
